Duggan Profiles & Steel Service Centre Ltd a member of the Duggan Steel Group is a well-established family-owned business founded over 40 years ago which has grown to be a market leader providing a diverse range of products including roof sheeting, cold rolled sections, standard and bespoke metal flashings to the Industrial, Light Gauge Steel and Agricultural sectors.

We are now looking to employ an experienced production maintenance fitter with great scope for career development and progression.

Role:
This role will give you exposure to a variety of roll forming machinery and sheet metal work equipment including new installations along with setup of planned and preventative maintenance schedules.

Reporting to the Maintenance supervisor and General Manager this hands-on role will be very diverse and interesting and will suit a time served fitter with a strong technical background preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Your responsibilities will include the preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance, upgrade and installation of equipment, site, and services.

You will liaise with outside contractors and suppliers to ensure the scheduled maintenance of lifting equipment and auditing of same as per health and safety requirements.

You will help Identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies while liaising with management of the company.

Ensuring all equipment is repaired to the highest standards utilizing maintenance troubleshooting skills and tools and logging all information into our maintenance software package. You will utilise the system to schedule preventive maintenance and record fixes to issues found on site.

You will undertake other work that may be assigned to you from time to time, which may be outside the area of your normal-duties.

Education and Experience:

  • Trade Certified Mechanical Fitter with at least 3 – 5 years’ experience preferably gained in a manufacturing facility.
  • You will be able to work under pressure and enjoy working with your hands.
  • You will be able to use workshop equipment including grinders, drills, welding machines and lifting equipment and where necessary specify and detail any additions to the workshop inventory.
  • Strong ability to evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot problems
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Roll Forming and Sheet Metal folding equipment with respect to maintenance and setup will be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience in a range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment and you will be able to interpret drawings for the above systems.
  • Have the ability and confidence to work with or lead teams from external suppliers to ensure best practice in the use and maintenance of both new and existing equipment.
  • Full driving license
  • Strong working knowledge of machinery including electrics, hydraulics, and motors.
