General Information:

Stays are a bracing component intended to offer support to the web of hot rolled rafters or stanchions. When used in a roof situation they are commonly referred to as “Rafter Stays” while the term “Column Stay” generally is used to describe their use in walls. The image above illustrates a typical assembly. Stays connect at one end to metal “Stay plates” in the web of the rafter or stanchion while the other connects to the cold-rolled purlin, rail or cee section. They are fabricated to order and as such may be made to whatever length is required. The profile does not change irrespective of section depth and they may be supplied to match either galvanised or prepaintd steel. Additional details are available by viewing the product drawings available in the Product codes and drawings table below.
