Angle Strut on Building

3D PDF

Angle StrutGeneral Information:

Angle Struts are an anti sag component primarily used to provide anti sag support for Non Restraining Roof Cladding and Non Restraining Wall Cladding where sufficient lateral support to the top flange is not provided by the cladding. These members comprise a longitudinal angle member with angled cleats either end and provide improved lateral support when compared to tubular struts. More importantly from the point of view of non restraining cladding they offer support to the compression flange of the cold rolled member by means of the end cleat connection to the heel.

Angle Struts are specified by length and the section depth they are to suit. The relevant product codes are listed in the table below:

Some Points to Note:

• Angle struts are primarily used with sigma sections but may be used with Cee’s.

• Angle Struts are used as part of the anti sag system and may be used in conjunction with other anti sag components such as tie ropes, apex ties, eaves struts ant tubular struts. Refer to the graphics in this section and to the section on Anti Sag support for Non Restraining Cladding.

Length of Angle Strut• The cleat dimensions and punching details either end are not the same and are not aligned in the same plane. Refer to the drawings in the table below for full details.

• M12 bolts are used throughout.
